The design

The result is a marine grade stainless steel bracket articulated by a patented 'cruciform' gear. Azimuth and elevational adjustment is made using worm gears which are turned by hand to provide fast yet accurate alignment.

The challenge

To design a low profile antenna bracket for pole or wall mouting to withstand extreme environmental conditions. With a life expectancy of 20 years, the bracket must be easy to install and adjust, yet totally secure when mouted above public spaces.

Squaring up

Sub 10 Systems manufacture point to point microwave frequency communications equipment. These comprise pairs of antennas that require precise alignment when up to a kilometre apart. The antenna, as small as 200 mm square, link pico cells, in department stores for example, to mobile phone base stations.
